According to the World Health Organization, six in ten children— that’s 400 million under the age of five— are regularly subjected to physical punishment or psychological violence by parents, caregivers, or others they trust.
The consequences of household violence and child maltreatment are devastating— leading to lifelong mental, emotional, and physical harm, and creating lasting impacts on a child’s ability to thrive socially, academically, and professionally.
Too often, these forms of maltreatment remain hidden—with only a fraction of children ever receiving the help they desperately need. And without intervention, the cycle continues, passing generational trauma from one family to the next.
At KC Grace Foundation, our Mission is rooted in early intervention and prevention. We believe it truly takes a village to protect and raise a child, and we’re building that village—we aim to raise awareness, educate and provide resources to children, youth, and families—so we can break generational cycles of trauma and abuse before they begin.
