Youth Depression: When Silence Speaks Loudest

Depression in youth is often unseen, unheard, and tragically  misunderstood. It's more than sadness. It’s the heaviness behind their  smiles, the isolation behind their silence, and the exhaustion behind  every "I'm fine."

Our KCG family believes no child should carry this weight alone.

Depression can affect any child — regardless of background, faith, or  upbringing. It can stem from trauma, bullying, abandonment, neglect, or  simply feeling unseen in a world that moves too fast. If untreated,  youth depression can lead to self-harm, substance  abuse, and even suicide.

We step in where pain has taken root. Through compassionate care,  trauma-informed support, and spiritual encouragement, we guide  struggling youth toward healing, hope, and restored joy.

Common Signs of Depression in Youth:

Withdrawal from friends or activities

Changes in sleep or appetite

Ongoing sadness or irritability

Loss of interest in school or hobbies

Feelings of worthlessness or guilt

Talking about death or self-harm
