The Reporting Process

Speak Up. Save a Life. Start Healing.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, neglect,  abandonment, or emotional trauma, reporting is the first step toward  safety and restoration. At KC Grace Foundation, we take every report  seriously—and handle every case with confidentiality, compassion, and  urgency.

Step-by-Step: How to Report

1. Recognize the Signs

Common indicators of abuse or neglect include:

-Unexplained injuries or emotional withdrawal

-Poor hygiene, frequent hunger, or exhaustion

-Sudden fearfulness or anxiety

-A child talking about being hurt or left alone

-Risky behaviors or signs of emotional trauma

2. Submit a Report (Anonymously if Needed)

If you believe a child is in immediate danger or harm, call 911 first.

-If able, please comfort the child and encourage them to speak up

-Call the Support Line: 1-800-422-4453

-Text  "HELP" to 1-800-422-4453

3. Intake & Safety Assessment

Once the call/intake is received, a trained intake team will:

-Review the information

-Determine the urgency of the situation

-Contact child protection services (if legally required)

-If Child Protective Services are contacted, an immediate investigation will be completed.

4. Ongoing Support

If able, please provide the victim child with our information. We don’t walk away once a report is made

Our  commitment continues through healing, restoration, and empowerment—until  every child feels safe, seen, and supported.

We can provide:

-Mentorship pairing

-Counseling or therapy

-Faith-based emotional support

-Community or agency referrals

-Provide Basic necessities like food, clothes, or shelter
