PTSD & C-PTSD in Youth

Some wounds are invisible — but they cut the deepest.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) affect  many children and teens who have experienced abuse, neglect, violence,  abandonment, or chronic emotional pain. These conditions don’t just fade  with time. Without help, they can silently  shape a young person’s entire world.

The KCG  family understand that trauma rewires believes a rewires how a child  sees safety, trust, and even themselves. We create safe, faith-centered  spaces for youth to process their pain and begin their journey of  healing.

⚠️ Signs of PTSD/C-PTSD in Youth:

Flashbacks or nightmares

Emotional numbness or detachment

Sudden anger or aggression

Avoidance of people or places

Panic attacks or hyper-vigilance

Low self-worth and deep shame

Struggles to trust or form relationships

🔄 What’s the Difference?

PTSD often results from one traumatic event (like a violent encounter or assault).

C-PTSD is caused by repeated trauma over time — such as ongoing abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

Both are serious. Both are valid. Both deserve compassionate care.
