Youth Insomnia: When Rest Won’t Come

Sleep should be a place of peace and restoration — but for many young  people, it’s a nightly battle. Youth insomnia is more than staying up  late. It’s lying awake with racing thoughts, reliving trauma, or feeling  too anxious to relax.

At KC Grace Foundation, we recognize that sleepless nights are often  signs of deeper struggles — like anxiety, depression, stress, or  unresolved trauma. When a child can’t sleep, they can’t grow, focus, or  heal the way they need to.

That’s why we provide faith-based, trauma-informed support to help youth  reclaim rest — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Common Causes of Insomnia in Youth:

Anxiety or fear at night

Trauma or PTSD

Depression or emotional distress

Inconsistent home environments

Social media over-stimulation

Nightmares or night terrors

What We Offer at KC Grace:

✅ Access to safe and peaceful environments

✅ Mindfulness and calming strategies

✅ Supportive counseling and prayer

✅ Educational tools for healthy sleep habits

✅ Mentorship for emotional stability

✅ Encouragement rooted in God’s peace

🕊️ “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” – Psalm 4:8

We are committed to helping youth find rest in  body and soul. Because healing starts with sleep — and every child  deserves peace at night.
